Biomechanics

The Biomechanics Core provides tension, compression, torsion, and rheological testing for specimens from soft hydrogels to metal implants. Services include high-force testing with MTS MiniBionix and TA 3200 platforms, low-force testing down to 1N with TA 3100, and advanced rheology up to 200 °C using Anton Paar MCR302e for fluids, gels, thin films, and small specimens.

Services

Our services include specialized testing to evaluate the mechanical properties of biological and engineered materials. Our team provides comprehensive static and dynamic mechanical characterization, including compressive, tensile, torsional, flexural, and fatigue testing. Available services include:

  • Rheology and viscosity measurements using advanced rheometry
  • Uniaxial compression, tension, and torsion testing for material strength and deformation analysis
  • Cyclic fatigue testing to assess durability under repeated loading
  • Flexural testing for bending performance evaluation
